California Young Democrats Will Work to Defend a Women's Right to Choose

SACRAMENTO – California Young Democrats President Rocky Fernandez released the following statement today upon qualification of the Constitutional Amendment ballot measure "Waiting Period and Parental Notification Before Termination of Minor's Pregnancy":"The California Young Democrats are committed to defending women's reproductive rights and will fight to defeat this ballot measure in November."

Nick Warshaw, President of the California College Democrats also commented, "This is the third time the right wing Republicans in California have cynically attempted to use this as a wedge issue for divisive political gain. We fought it hard in 2005 and 2006. And we're going to fight it even harder this time. California's young voters are savvy enough to see through this mean-spirited effort to turn out the fringe right."
